THE (not so) GENERIC RPG

I made alot of the tiles before I read about the competition so I just had to make the titlescreen and the "gameplay" elements (swordslash, lifebar (hearts) and manabar) and arrange it.
The title is (not) inspired by Rebuild of Evangelion titles. And with that I mean it totally is.

Flavor text:
The idea behind it is that the titlescreen scrolls over the worldmap (animations aren't allowed, otherwise I may would have made it that way) and maybe other scenes.

The gameplay is rather zelda-isch (you hit you enemies on screen) with multiple characters you switch through with different abilities. It has different elements from rogue-likes, like permadeath, randomized items, unindentified stuff and a lot of "fun" (read in dwarf-fortress way of "fun") stuff to discover!
To successfully play it you have to use each character to his/her best, and hope for them not to die prematurely!

On the right screen you see one of the heroes slashing a slime in front of the secret magesguild. Besides more slimes there are some collectible items scattered around him. In the upper right corner is the portrait of the currently played hero and a life-bar in hearts and a mana-bar.

Coming to the Game Boy with online support in spring 2014! ... What do you with mean "Game Boy doesn't have online support" and "You can't make a game for a dead handheld"?
